The QuantityWare Bulk Calculations Solution 3.0 (BCS 30B) has successfully completed its certification as the only “SAP® Certified – Integration with SAP® S/4HANA” quantity conversion and governance solution available for the SAP Oil & Gas solution; thus BCS 30B has now been released by QuantityWare for productive usage on SAP Oil & Gas on S/4HANA 1909.

The certification process for QuantityWare BCS 30B on SAP S/4HANA 1909 has been started. We expect it to be concluded by the end of 2019.
Certification will be posted in a news item when achieved.

ASTM D1250 has been issued as a new version with the designation ASTM D1250-19. This version is necessary due to the publication of API MPMS Chapter 11.1 Addendum 2 (May 2019 – see news item). 10 changes are listed in Addendum 2 which are classified as “minor” modifications in ASTM D1250-19. One of these “minor” modifications requires that final densities and volumes should be calculated with non-rounded volume correction factors (CTL, CPL and CTPL). This modification affects calculation results of the current implementation and thus requires an advanced development such that the calculation models assigned to API MPMS Chapter 11.1 can be configured (via a switch in the conversion group settings) to apply non-rounded volume correction factors. This advanced development will be shipped via a QuantityWare note in Q2 2020.

The QuantityWare QWiki FAQ has been released for public access. The FAQ section supports our network of certified BCP and BCG consultants, who deliver the implementation expertise to BCS projects.

QuantityWare has created Note 000086 – Support and Release (Lifecycle) details (see here) as a single source of information for existing and prospective customers regarding this topic.

A new Addendum 2 has been issued in May 2019 for API MPMS Chapter 11.1 – “Temperature and Pressure Volume Correction Factors for Generalized Crude Oils, Refined Products, and Lubricating Oils” . QuantityWare will carefully analyze the numerous changes delivered with this second addendum and assess potential implications on existing implementations within the next months. Additional guidance will then be communicated in a second news item in Q4 2019 to our customers.

“Miscellaneous Hydrocarbon Product Properties – Denatured Ethanol Density and Volume Correction Factors” has been issued as a third edition in May 2019. QuantityWare has analyzed this new version and confirms that existing BCP implementations of API MPMS Chapter 11.3.3 comply with this latest version. In addition, this new edition provides pressure correction logic, which is relevant if ethanol is metered at elevated pressures. QuantityWare will thus define and deliver an advanced development, which will enable API MPMS 11.3.3 CPL calculations.

In this newly-released QuantityWare document, we build on our popular working paper LPG Vapor Space Calculations to provide comparison calculation results for vapor space and liquid volume properties of Butadiene. As several calculation standards are available for a single product group, we clearly demonstrate that it is of the utmost importance for business partners to agree on a common measurement standard basis for their business transaction processes.
