Based on constructive and detailed user feedback, QuantityWare will now include all requested Petroleum Measurement and Gas Measurement Cockpit usability enhancements into BCS 10B CSP01. Consultants and customers will be able to execute implementation projects faster, leveraging highly automated configuration options and navigation features. The delivery date for BCS 10B has therefore been moved to 30.06.2011. The release notes for BCS 10B have been updated accordingly and can be found in our Knowledge Base.
Our congratulations to SAP EMEA FS Oil&Gas, Metals&Mining – the first consulting organization to have two fully certified consultants in the BCP 10B solution.
Having successfully completed the Basic Training course, the two consultants returned three months later to attend the certification course and assessment. Both passed with flying colors, showing their knowledge of the QuantityWare solution and an ability to apply this knowledge to complex industry-orientated issues. Fulfilling the certification prerequisite, SAP EMEA FS Oil&Gas, Metals&Mining is our first “Recommended Implementation Partner” presenting the industry a trusted and respected consulting organization through which they can source consultancy in our solution.
Owing to volatility of supply, the general public and regulatory bodies are becoming increasingly interested in the energy industry and its responsibility for transparency and accountability; preclude such issues and prepare the material flow in your existing ERP implementation for the future, by supporting current individual material calculations’ standards. This processes starting point is the replacement of external legacy implementations such as “API C”, allowing a smooth evolution to meet your market environments’ future expectations. This Working Paper can be found in our Knowledge Base.
DIN 51757 “Testing of mineral oils and related materials – Determination of density” has been revised and issued as DIN 51757:2011-01, replacing DIN 51757:1994-04. QuantityWare has carefully analyzed the new DIN 51757 version and confirms that BCP implementations of DIN 51757 are compliant with this new version (X Tables will be shipped the first time with BCS 10B CSP01). Minor changes (effecting Y table density values for Methanol, Ethanol and iso-Propanol) will also be included in BCS 10B CSP01; customers using the current BCP implementation can comply with these minor adjustments via customizing.
We have performed more than 1 Billion comparison calculations between ASTM D1250-04 and ASTM D1250-80 base density and volume correction factor calculation results. The comparison results have now been published in an updated working paper and can be found in our Knowledge Base.
This working paper is intended to provide clear guidance with business impact data to the global oil industry, when considering migration of their legacy quantity conversion solutions from ASTM D1250-80 or -52 to ASTM D1250-04 calculations.
The Release Notes for CSP01 on BCS 10B have been published, describing the final delivery content that will be shipped with CSP01. The Release Notes can be found in our Knowledge Base.
ASTM D2962 “Standard Practice for Calculating Volume-Temperature Correction for Coal-Tar Pitches” has been revised and issued as ASTM D2962-10. QuantityWare has carefully analyzed the new version and confirms that BCP implementations of this standard are compliant with ASTM D2962-10.
QuantityWare now additionally offers an annual “SaaS” (Software as a Service) subscription for its BCP and BCG products, allowing you maximum financial flexibility. Multiple year contracts are also possible – assuring stability, but spreading the cost of usage across the lifespan of your system. Full maintenance and all product upgrades are included in the SaaS fee while you are still free to install the software on multiple SAP Oil & Gas instances within the limits of the license. At the end of the annual subscription period, our solution simply ceases to function and can be left, (owing to our strict policy of non-modification) passive in the system, to be deleted at the next SAP upgrade, or removed by means of a special de-installation package.
This additional license strategy strengthens our companies’ fair and transparent pricing model – providing a better “fit” to customer usage in a dynamic market environment.
The standardization of biofuels temperature correction procedures is currently an industry “hot Topic”. Various national regulations are already in place, e.g. in the U.S.A. where the regulations have been defined by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) (see RFS-Finalrule.pdf) while discussion within varying industry partners continues – (see Discussion example). Other countries are still working on updated or new standards for biofuel.
With QuantityWare BCP, you can define quantity conversions for your biofuel products based on all currently available standards, allowing you to keep track of all relevant quantities in parallel, in several units of measure. Temperature correction calculations can be defined to aid the dedicated reporting units of measure based on a government regulatory formula or industry standard formula, in parallel.
QuantityWare also offers expert consulting for BCP customers requiring legally compliant quantity conversions for their biofuel products.
